EcoPlum Shines a Spotlight on its B Corp Suppliers: agood company, Sweden’s Purpose-Driven Promotional Products Brand

This is the fourth profile in our blogpost series about our B Corp suppliers.

In an era when sustainability is no longer a luxury but a necessity, agood company stands as a refreshing reminder that business can be a force for good. At agood company, products we use every day are symbols of change towards a more environmentally friendly future. Founded in Sweden by Anders Ankarlid in 2019, this purpose-driven brand is reimagining how everyday products are made, used, and reused—placing environmental and social impact at the heart of purchasing decisions.

The company creates thoughtful, sustainable, and elegant promotional products—ensuring customers don’t need to compromise between design and sustainability. In the same year agood company launched this business, it also became a Certified B Corporation®, demonstrating its commitment to transparency, ethical design, and mitigating real-world impact with each item produced.

With every purchase of its plant-based phone cases, stone paper notebooks, and other products, the company allocates financial support to many causes. They make contributions to support clean water access, girls’ education, reforestation, and more.

For sustainable, branded merchandise, agood company provides excellence in innovation and authenticity of purpose.

The origin of agood company

In 2018, Sweden faced devastating environmental events with the highest temperatures on record, droughts, and nationwide forest fires. Anders Ankarlid was despondent over these events and the personal impact faced by his wife’s family farm. They feared the potential catastrophe that their cattle herd would die from thirst and lack of food due to burnt grass. His personal concern for his children and the planet led to his desire to do something impactful. Ankarlid decided he could make a difference by taking what he knew about the ecommerce business and applying it in ways to benefit the environment. In 2019, he launched agood company in Stockholm, as a brand that would transform mindless consumption into conscious decisions. After building the company successfully, Ankarlid stepped down as CEO in 2024, entrusting the company to a new leadership team. The company is privately funded.

Since its origins, the company’s goal has been to offer complete transparency, so that customers understand everything about how their products are made and the component materials usedbacked up with facts. They require that suppliers and partners provide proof about their practices and present their environmental footprint in everything they do.

The company is small, with a core team of under 20 employees working in Stockholm and remotely from other locations.

What makes agood company unique?

The company invests significantly in finding the best manufacturers to produce their eco friendly products. They research and experiment vigorously with the materials used to create sustainable, functional, durable, and stylish items.

Committed to providing information to the public, agood company details the environmental footprint of each product and accounts for the materials used, total water consumption, the source of energy used in production, and the carbon emissions of both production and shipping. Benchmarking their products against competing products in the same category is also important to the business. Further to their transparency, agood company lists all of its factories, detailing their ownership structure, certificates, and work environment.

The company believes that sustainable sourcing of materials is key to preserving the planet and its resources with a philosophy expressed as, “If Mother Nature can't replenish it, we won't use it.”

Designed to do good products

At the heart of its appeal, agood company creates a range of sustainable, everyday products that are thoughtfully designed and promote conscious consumerism. Every product made takes years to perfect because the business is committed to creating items that are better for people and the planet. They believe in making a positive impact on the world by reducing waste and choosing eco-conscious materials to reduce the carbon footprint of their products.

From phone cases and accessories to bottles and stone paper notebooks, everything agood company offers is built to last and to not end up in landfills like many cheap, and often plastic promotional goods. When their product lifecycle ends, their products are designed to return to the earth and biodegrade, or to provide recycled inputs for new products in a circular economy. In a circular economy, materials never become waste, nature is regenerated, and products and materials are kept in circulation as long as possible.

To highlight what they accomplish, the company’s plant-based phone cases are compostable, breaking down naturally into organic matter. In contrast, plastic phone cases take around 500 years to decompose and they release hazardous chemicals into the environment.

But agood company takes sustainability a step further with the agood loop™, their closed-loop circular system. Customers can return used phone cases which are then recycled into pellets and remolded into new cases, eliminating environmental waste. Minimizing waste is built into the company’s business model, including water usage and renewable energy sources in manufacturing.

B Corp Certified: Business as a Force for Good

This milestone marked formal recognition of their commitment to using business as a force for good. As a Certified B Corp, the business met high standards of environmental and social performance, transparency, and accountability. In fact, their last B Impact Score of 95.1 is well above the 80 points needed for certification and median score of 50.9 for all companies undergoing the B Corp assessment and certification process. The company publishes its impact data and maintains transparency across its supply chain.

Here are some of its core sustainability commitments:

  1. Choose the least environmentally damaging product materials, regardless of cost.
  2. Provide transparency and partner with suppliers who share their values.
  3. Eliminate the use of harmful chemicals.

Giving Back: agood foundation

A full 4% of all net sales (not profits) go to the agood foundation for charities that support environmental and community needs. With each product sold, they contribute to a specific charitable fund. The foundation supports many partners, including the following ones with the products paired with them:

  1. The Malala Fund. Mobile phone cases enable contributions for the education of girls.
  2. charity: water. Water bottles and stationery products help provide water to needy communities, with a company goal to provide 25 million liters annually around the world.
  3.  Save the Children. Clothing sales generate a food kit donation for every item sold.
  4.  WeForest. Sustainable mobile phone accessories provide contributions used for reforestation and tree planting.
